This guy is now done, except for the banner he's going to be holding in his left hand. That's built, ready for painting. I'll go through him, bit by bit when he's completely finished. for now, the basics of certain parts.
The axe is basically a variety of browns, oranges and metallics, drybrushed over each other, followed by a metallic weathering powder
The purple cloth was part accident, part experiment; I painted it up as normal (basecoat and two highlights), then went to wash it, and dipped my brush in the wrong pot: Biel Tan Green. I noticed it but decided to try it out, just for a laugh. I was surprised by the result. It makes it look, well, dirty. The picture doesn't really do it justice though.
The base is from Secret Weapon Miniatures. It's painted in a variety of reds, then covered over with a mix of realistic water, Bloodletter and Carrobourg Crimson.
That is bleedin' fantastic, man! Absolutely love how the colors of the skin and cloth work together, and the wet look is absolutely vile. In other words, it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
@ mordian 7th: no pun intended there? Seriously though, thanks. I now have just over a week to paint up the banner!
